Chiawa Camp
Chiawa Camp is set on the banks of the Zambezi River, shaded by a grove of Mahogany trees, enjoying an excellent position within the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Accommodation at Chiawa is in 9 Superior Safari Tents, each with a choice of one king bed or two large single beds, with bathrooms equipped with ball and claw bath, indoor and outdoor shower and his and hers washbasins. The most remote Superior Tent is ideal for honeymooners and boasts the most impressive view in the Zambezi Valley, with an outside bathroom (although under a roof and on the deck). All tents have timber floors and verandas with excellent views and are accessed by paths running behind them to maximise privacy. 3 of the Tents overlook the "dry riverbed" with quartering views of the Zambezi River, and the other 6 overlook the River itself.
The main Lodge area houses the thatched lounge/bar area complete with an upstairs viewing deck, which provides one of the best views of the Zambezi River.
Breakfasts, brunches and lunches are served plated or as a hot and cold buffet – this depends upon your activities for the day. Meals are usually al-fresco, sometimes in the bush, and occasionally on a boat in the middle of the Zambezi! Afternoon tea with sweet and savoury snacks is generally served upstairs on the viewing platform just prior to the afternoon safari activities.

Dinners at Chiawa Camp are usually 4 courses, table d’hote, served under the stars by the camp fire or, if you are visiting during a full moon, on a sand bar in the middle of the Zambezi.
Chiawa is famous for its exceptional guiding and wildlife, and an excellent variety of safari activities – and you can explore the area on day and night game drives, nature walks, a pontoon boat, and on canoeing excursions.
For the fishing enthusiast, there are some excellent opportunities (strict catch and release policy). Birding is also excellent in the area, and enthusiasts will be kept busy with sightings.
Chiawa also boasts a refreshing plunge pool, complete with sun deck – a must in the hotter months.
Chiawa is a seasonal camp: open 15 April to 15 November
