Sausage Tree Camp
Sausage Tree Camp is on the banks of the Zambezi River in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park. The Camp overlooks a number of narrow channels and low set reed islands, which supports a variety of wildlife. The Zambezi escarpment forms a wonderful backdrop.
Sausage Tree Camp accommodates only 16 guests, in unique Bedouin-style white canvas tents which are furnished in luxurious fabrics and Zambian Teak - including the four-poster beds, complete with flowing mosquito nets. The open air bathrooms enjoy River views. There are 2 honeymoon suites which offer luxurious accommodation, and each boasts indoor and outdoor bathrooms, dining area, bar and a king size bed overlooking a private pool set into the deck. There is also Kigelia House, which is the perfect choice for small groups or families, with two en-suite bedrooms separated by an open plan living area which leads onto the private deck and pool.
Sausage Tree’s central dining and bar area is at the edge of a huge deck overlooking the Zambezi River allowing for some excellent game viewing. Guests can also relax at the large swimming pool, which is idyllically situated under shade.
Dining is delightful, with breakfast available at any time, there is also a buffet lunch, which consists of a selection of hot dishes, including vegetarian. Lunch is served in the dining tent, deep in the bush or a sandbank in the Zambezi. Before your afternoon activity, enjoy freshly made lemonade or iced tea with a selection of sweet and savoury delicacies. Dinners are three courses of fine dining, and are served at a hosted table, or, if you prefer, in the privacy of your own tent served by your personal butler. Dinner can also be enjoyed under the stars, cooked by a campfire on an island or deep in the bush.
