The River Club
The River Club is situated some 18 kilometres upstream of the Victoria Falls, on the banks of the Zambezi.
Overlooking the River, accommodation at The River Club is in 11 luxury chalets, each with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors – making for spectacular views and a romantic ambience. Each room looks west into the African sunset, best viewed from the privacy of the ball-and-claw bath.
The River Club is a restored 1940s homestead and is complete with comfortable lounge, dining room, library and veranda - where breakfasts and teas are enjoyed. Lunches are often served in the lush gardens spread out beneath the trees.
There are a number of activities on offer, which include a guide visit to the Falls (Livingstone side), a visit to a local village, and visits to Livingstone town (which include the museum and Railway museum). As the River Club is close to the National Park, you get the chance to see a surprising variety of wildlife from the Lodge – including elephant and hippo.
You get to enjoy game drives into the Zambezi National Park or nearby Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (in open or closed safari vehicles), which allows for some excellent wildlife sightings.

As you are on the Zambezi River, a Sundowner Cruise should not be missed – here you get the opportunity to spot a variety of birdlife, as well as plenty of hippo and crocodile in the River.
For the fishermen - there are several varieties of bream (tilapia) to be caught, while tiger fishing is an unforgettable challenge for keen fishermen. Standard equipment is provided, and a strict catch and release policy is adhered to.
Guests at The River Club can also participate in cultural visits to the nearby Simonga village, which provides an insight into the ways of life and traditional customs of the local people.
Livingstone Town Tours take you to the local museum, markets and shops, allowing you to see the historic and modern Livingstone town.
The Lodge also boasts a summer house with snooker room; infinity swimming pool overlooking the Zambezi River and croquet on the lawn. For the more energetic, there is also a gym, running track and tennis court. In addition, nature walks are offered on the property.
Adrenalin activities run from Livingstone (and at an additional cost) include helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, white water rafting, river boarding, abseiling, specialist birding, and a (seasonal) Livingstone Island lunch, to name a few.
