Track and Trail River Camp is one of the few Zambia lodges that is very closely located to the entrance of the South Luangwa National Park with the advantage that guests can be one of the first to enter the park in the morning, with the chance of the first sightings in the area.
Track and Trail River Camp is a privately owned lodge offering 8.5 hectares of unforgettable sunrises and panoramic views of the Luangwa River, in an area of unspoiled Wilderness.
Facilities and accommodation are scattered along the river frontage, and are surrounded by bushes. Accommodation on offer includes both chalets and en-suite safari tents. With four double-storey chalets, two secluded en-suite safari tents and three en-suite safari tents at riverfront the camp offers various options of accommodation. Watch a breath-taking sunrise over the Luangwa River from your private balcony. Awaken by the sounds of the bush and smell the fresh start of a new day in unspoiled wilderness.
The Lime tree lounge, bar/ dining area offer unrivalled panoramic views while enjoying a vodka & lime our ‘un’ official drink or having a dining experience in our restaurant. And while relaxing at the centrally located elevated swimming pool you can keep an eye on the hippo’s and crocodiles in the river.

At Track and Trail River Camp you can enjoy morning or a night drives in the South Luangwa National Park. The morning safari starts around 06.00, just after a light breakfast at sunrise and takes place in open safari vehicles to fully experience the surroundings. You will be accompanied by a well-trained guide. The Camp specializes in photographic safaris and where possible the guide will position the vehicle to get the best angle for photographic purposes.
One of Luangwa´s highlights is a night drive in the park looking for nocturnal animals - lion, leopard, hyena, mongoose, owl, civet, bush baby and genet. You leave at about 16.00 - stop to watch the beautiful Luangwa sunset while having a drink and a snack and once it is almost dark continue the drive using the spotlight. Return to camp at 20.00 and dinner will be served around 20.30.
Experience an all-day authentic Zambia safari, where you visit a remote area inside the park; start off early in the morning around 06.00 and you will have the whole day to explore miles of wilderness and the abundance and variety of its inhabitants. A shady picnic spot will be selected where you enjoy a bush brunch in the heat of the day. After having some time to relax head off again to discover more of the unspoiled Zambian bush only to return to the lodge at 16.00

The qualified and experienced safari guide and armed National Park scout will bring you in direct contact with all the park has to offer and not only to see the African eco system, but also to smell, feel, touch and hear the African wilderness.
What is a Zambian safari without getting to know the local people and to discover their traditions and culture? Visit the village where the friendly Kunda people welcome you to share their traditional way of life with you. During your 3 hour visit you can experience daily life at the village and you can even take part in activities such as pounding maize or brewing Kachasu, the local beer. You can visit a school and interact with the students and visit the Traditional Healer.
