Zambia Circuit Safari
12 night Zambian Safari to South Luangwa, Livingstone and Lower Zambezi...
Days 1 and 2: Kakuli
You will be met at Lusaka Airport and assisted onto your Proflight Charter to Mfuwe Airport, approximately one hour away. At Mfuwe Airport you will be met by your Guide, and transferred by road to Kakuli. The South Luangwa Valley is home to a multitude of different mammal species. Endemic species such as the Thornicroft’s Giraffe and Cookson’s Wildebeest will also be seen, but the real highlight will be the ever-present leopards - the South Luangwa is probably the best National Park in Africa for watching leopards in their natural environment. Your day at Kakuli will begin early with a light breakfast around the camp-fire watching the sun rise over the lagoon. Your morning game-drive will be in an open four-wheel drive vehicle, lasting for approximately 4 hours. After brunch back in Camp and some time for a siesta or a swim, you will leave for your night drive... Dinner is served in various locations back at Camp, but usually the stars provide the setting. Days 3 to 7: Walking Safari From Kakuli you will be driven deep into the National Park to Luwi Bush Camp, a wonderfully rustic camp set in the deep shade of large trees close to a permanent lagoon that is home to a large population of Hippo and even more Crocodile. The rooms at Luwi have grass walls and thatched roofs with bathrooms that are open to the trees and stars above. Here your walking safaris begin, absorbing the subtle signs of the bush in the company of your armed escort. You will walk downstream of the Luwi River, arriving at Nsolo Bush Camp, your next remote bush camp. Here you will spend two nights, exploring the area on foot. Your next Luangwa destination will be Mchenja, where game viewing will still be mostly on foot, but drives are on offer too – especially to spot the leopards which inhabit this part of the Park. Days 8 and 9: Tongabezi Lodge
After breakfast you will be driven back to Mfuwe Airport, where you will fly with Proflight (via Lusaka) to Livingstone. A representative of Tongabezi Lodge will meet you at Livingstone Airport, and will transfer you to the Lodge, approximately 25 minutes away. Tongabezi Lodge is probably the most romantic lodge on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. It is situated on a magnificent sweep of the Zambezi River, just 20km upstream of the famous Victoria Falls. You will spend 2 nights at Tongabezi Lodge in a riverside cottage, with a multitude of activities included during your stay, including a visit to the Zambian side of the Falls. Days 10, 11 and 12: Chiawa Camp A representative of Tongabezi Lodge will return you to Livingstone Airport in time to check in for your flight to Royal airstrip in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Whilst in the Lower Zambezi, you will stay at Chiawa Camp – tented and highly recommended, situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. The game viewing in the Lower Zambezi is surpassed only by the beauty of the views. With the steep escarpment behind you and the Zambezi in front, few fail to be moved by this National Park. Activities are varied and with three days here one should try to experience as much as possible. Morning and afternoon drives or walks are always o canoeing along some of the hippo channels should not be missed! The Lower Zambezi is a Park for everyone and a perfect end to an exciting Zambian safari. Day 13 Your flight from the Lower Zambezi is early this morning in order to have you in Lusaka in time for your onward flight out of Zambia. |
