Luwi Camp
Luwi Bush Camp is situated away from the permanent waters of the main Luangwa River, making it truly remote.
Accommodation at Luwi is in 4 safari tents, all nestled under a grove of ancient mahogany trees overlooking a floodplain that attracts hippos and elephants. The tents are designed to fully immerse guests into the classic bush experience.
A small tented area provides shade over the bar and lounge areas, otherwise there is no formal central lodge area.
Luwi’s setting is ideal to enjoy moments around the campfire in the early morning making jaffles over the hot coals to evenings listening to the varied sounds of the Luangwa. Enjoy an alfresco dinner - a delicious Zambian-inspired meal in the wild.

There is a large lagoon adjacent to Luwi Camp that is home to a good number of hippo and crocodile. This permanent water source attracts wildlife from all around the area, making for some excellent game viewing opportunities. Enjoy the use of the hide, allowing you the chance for some excellent wildlife photography.
In terms of activities, you might wish to combine safari walks with day and night game drives to explore everything the bush has to offer.
As this is a remote camp, the area has very few roads, and thus activities tend to revolve around walking safaris. This makes for some enthralling wildlife encounters, and allows you to truly learn about the local habitats.
Another popular activity is a Sleepout under the stars - a superb way to enjoy the area.
Children of all ages are welcome at Luwi.
Luwi is open 20 May to 15 November.
