Zambezi and South Luangwa Explorer
9 day/ 8 night safari. Explore Zambia’s two prime destinations…the Zambezi River Valley and the renowned Luangwa Valley. South Luangwa National Park marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, and is one of the last unspoilt wilderness areas in Africa, through which the meandering Luangwa River runs. The Luangwa River flows into the Zambezi River – just below the Lower Zambezi National Park. This park, scenically bordered by an impressive escarpment, has excellent game, which can be viewed from either the river or by land.
Day 1: Sausage Tree Camp
Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will connect onto your short flight to Lower Zambezi National Park. As you fly into the area, you get to see the wide Zambezi River, dotted with islands. Buffalo and elephant are always seen feeding along with the pods of hippos that rest on the edge of the sandbanks. Sausage Tree Camp is a luxury property set on the banks of the Zambezi. Activities are extremely flexible here – with a choice of game drives, walks, boat cruises, canoeing and fishing. Game viewing in the pristine Lower Zambezi National Park is superb and big game, such as elephant, hippo, buffalo and the big cats are even seen regularly in and around the camp! After a late lunch there will be a chance for an afternoon activity – be it on the river or by vehicle. Day 2 - 4 : Sausage Tree Camp Enjoy 3 full days of activities or relaxation as you please in this beautiful and fascinating area. Day 5 : South Luangwa Today you will be transferred to South Luangwa National Park for your next adventure on this safari. A guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you at Mfuwe Airport for transfer to your choice of one of Robin Pope Safaris’ camps - Luangwa River Camp, Nkwali, Tena Tena or Nsefu. Vertical Divider
