Islands of Siankaba
Islands of Siankaba is built on two small Islands in the Zambezi River, upstream from Victoria Falls. Siankaba's seven secluded chalets (fashioned in teak and canvas), each with its unique and individually different view of the mighty Zambezi River, are linked by a foot bridge to an haute cuisine restaurant. The uniquely positioned “Honeymoon” Suite has stunning views of the morning sun rising over the Zambezi River, allowing for a secluded and romantic experience. The suite’s African feel features rattan and leather furniture and incorporates a private dining area overlooking the river.
The design and landscaping of all the facilities incorporates the use of natural materials that blend in with the feel of the surrounding bush and takes full advantage of the unique and beautiful riverine site. The subtle architecture blends with a backdrop of stately natural forest creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Guests may spend quiet moments around the shaded pool or relax in the comfort of the open lounge and bar.

There are a good number of activities included in your stay, such as a Tour of the Falls, whilst at the lodge itself, you can enjoy guided birding and tree walks on the main island’s nature trail, where there is the chance of seeing African Finfoot, Pel's Fishing Owl, Pygmy Kingfisher, Rock Pratincole and White Backed-Night Heron. Guests can also enjoy a river cruise as sunset, complete with sun downers.
What better way to enjoy the islands and river, than by a trip by dug-out canoe, with your private guide/ poler. You might also want to go on a Cultural Village Walk, which is an excellent way to experience real Zambian culture and hospitality within a rural way of life. This trip includes a tour of the lodges' local sponsorship school.
The Islands of Siankaba also offers a range of traditional facial treatments using locally sourced materials (ant hill mud and oil form the Mungongo tree being a couple of favourites!)
As you are close to Livingstone and Victoria Falls, the Lodge can also arrange optional, additional activities such as helicopter flights over Victoria Falls, White Water Rafting, Elephant Back Safaris, Trips to Livingstone Island, Trips to Livingstone Museum, Micro light Flights, Fishing, Abseiling, Bungee Jumping, Tours of Mosi O Tunya National Park and Chobe National Park (all at additional cost, and some are seasonal).
